About David
Mr. Blau joined Kupelian Ormond & Magy, P.C. in March, 2008. He has practiced law since 1996, with an emphasis in commercial litigation involving construction lien foreclosure, landlord-tenant, bankruptcy/creditors rights, real estate and business transactions, and franchising. Mr. Blau has extensive experience in state, federal and bankruptcy court. He has represented chapter 7 bankruptcy trustees, creditors and commercial landlords in chapter 11 cases, chapter 7 cases, out-of-court workouts and restructurings.
His bankruptcy/creditor's rights work includes representing clients in all aspects of bankruptcy proceedings, including asset sales, chapter 11 and prosecution and defense of adversary proceedings related to preferential transfers and fraudulent transfers. He regularly represents builders, subcontractors, and suppliers in the filing and foreclosure of construction liens and bond claims, and has handled collections, real property disputes, contract claims, alter ego/successor corporate liability, shareholder disputes, corporate and partnership dissolution and creditor's rights matters. Mr. Blau has extensive experience in the negotiation and structuring of general business transactions, and has represented purchasers and sellers in many business and real estate transactions, including the purchase and sale of franchised restaurants. He represents clients in commercial real estate including acquisitions, financing, leasing, and sales.
Mr. Blau is a graduate of the Michigan State University College of Law.
