About David
I began my career in industry as a process engineer in the fledgling semiconductor manufacturing sector and ended it as an engineering manager for a semiconductor capital equipment supplier. During those years, the semiconductor sector grew from a modest, domestic beginning to an indispensable, global sector producing a universally employed product. Simultaneously, I grew from a junior engineer focused on my single area of responsibility to a senior manager responsible for millions of dollars of process equipment, critical supplies, major projects, and technical staff. But all things come to an end and I left industry to start my own law firm.
Today, instead of technical programs, I manage legal matters where my clients have significant economic risk and emotional investment; instead of dealing with physics, chemistry, project management, engineers, directors, presidents, and customers, I now deal with state law, federal statutes, administrative agencies, clients, judges, opposing counsel, the judicial system, local rules, trustees, advertising, ethics issues, accounting, etc. I enjoy working with people in my current endeavor as much as I did in when I worked in industry - solving problems and planning for the future.
As a lawyer, I view myself as the antithesis of the stereotypical, noxious attorney willing to twist the law and the facts to gain advantage and to prolong litigation for the accretion of legal fees. Quite contrarily, my style is to be honest and up-front with clients both with respect to fees and a realistic appraisal of your legal position. In order to make the best decision for yourself, you need to be informed of all the potential risks and consequences of alternative courses of action.
