Currently based in Pendleton, Indiana, Dean McConnell, Esq. has extensive experience in all facets of intellectual property law.  Mr. McConnell started practicing IP law in 1995 as a law clerk for a boutique intellectual property law firm in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  From there, he went on to serve as an IP attorney for Brinks Gilson & Lione, a nationally-recognized boutique IP law firm in Chicago, Illinois, and then at Krieg DeVault, a nationally-recognized law firm in Indianapolis, Indiana.  During his tenure at these respected law firms, Mr. McConnell gained unique insights and vast experience in intellectual property law and business law, ranging from patent and trademark prosecution to high-stakes intellectual property litigation.  After more than 20 years of concentrated IP legal expertise, Mr. McConnell launched his own legal practice to exclusively focus on IP law: Dean McConnell Intellectual Property Law in Indianapolis.

Throughout his successful legal career, Mr. McConnell has prepared and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications for clients ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 corporations.  He has IP law expertise in a variety of technical and industrial sectors including technology/ software, medical devices, electronics, mechanical equipment and clean energy/ green technology. Mr. McConnell has validated, established, protected, monitored, defended and litigated his clients’ intellectual property rights for products such as semi-conductors, digital circuits, wireless communication, telecommunication and analog equipment, software, mechanical equipment and components, and medical devices.
