About Deborah

Deborah Cordova grew up in Mission, Texas and returned to the Rio Grande Valley upon graduating from St. Mary's University School of Law.  Deborah joined the firm as an associate in 2007.  Deborah's areas of practice include representation of banking institutions, small businesses and individuals in real estate transactions, foreclosures, collections, business entities and commercial litigation.

Deborah graduated from St. Mary's University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in Accounting.  Deborah received her law degree from St. Mary's University School of Law in 2002.  While in law school, Deborah was a member of the State Bar of Texas Law Student Division, Hispanic Law Student Association and the Women's Law Section.  Deborah also volunteered for numerous programs such as Habitat for Humanity, Free Wills Clinic, The People's Law School and coaching the Fox Tech Mock Trial Team.  Deborah was also a staff writer for the St. Mary's Law Journal and a legal columnist for the San Antonio Defender.

Deborah is licensed to practice law is the State of Texas and in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.  Deborah is active in her local bar associations and in her local community.  Deborah served on the Board of Directors of the Hidalgo County Bar Association in 2004-2006 and she is currently the Treasurer of the association.  Deborah also served on the Board of Directors of the Hidalgo County Young Lawyers Association as Director in 2004-2005, President-Elect in 2005-2006 and President in 2006-2007.  Deborah is currently the co-chair of the Women's Law Section of the Hidalgo County Bar Association.  Deborah was recently recognized by her peers as a Texas Rising Star in 2007.

Deborah's public service involvement includes Leadership McAllen Class XXVI, volunteering for the A Su Lado Call a Lawyer Phone Bank on the local Univision affiliate, volunteering in drives and fund-raising events benefitting local organizations and speaking at local schools for programs such as Career Day and the Texas Scholar High School Program.

Deborah is fluent in Spanish.
