About Debra
Debra Venhaus limits her practice primarily to the law of Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments, including representation from the initial filing to administrative law judge hearings and to the appellate levels of review. She represents people of all ages disabled by a multitude of illnesses and injuries, including: Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, Diabetes, Back Impairments, Cardiological Impairments, Organic Brain Injury, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, PTSD and other mental and physical impairments. She has practiced exclusively in the area of Social Security law since 1993, and recently added Wills and Trusts for non-taxable estates to the services she offers her clients.
Ms. Venhaus received her Bachelor of Science degree in legal studies, with distinction, from Nova Southeastern University in 1989; she received her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern Shepard Broad Law Center in 1993. Ms. Venhaus began representing disabled individuals while still in law school and, enjoying the ability to help those in whose lives she could make a difference, began practicing exclusively Social Security Law soon after graduation.
Ms. Venhaus has practice in numerous states and in many federal district courts of appeals, and has argued appeals before the United States Circuit court of Appeals for the Seventh and Eleventh Circuits. She is licensed to practice law in Washington State, Florida, Illinois and the District of Columbia, and is a sustaining member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimant's Representatives ("NOSSCR") and a member of MENSA. When not practicing law, Ms. Venhaus enjoys being outdoors, running and hiking, and spending time with her son, Austin, and their dogs, Shaggy and Lucky.
