Diana Gertsmark Brown is an associate at Hertz Schram and a member of the firm's Family Law practice group. Ms. Brown is well versed in all aspects of matrimonial law, including divorce, child custody and support disputes, parenting time, complex property division, and alimony issues. In addition to appearing in court, she has experience with mediation and arbitration in domestic relations matters. Ms. Brown also handles adoptions, prenuptial agreements, and various post-judgment matters that arise following the entry of a judgment of divorce.
Ms. Brown earned her law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, where she served as moot court advisor, in 1994. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in 1990.
Prior to joining Hertz Schram, Ms. Brown managed her own contract attorney business. Since beginning her legal career, Ms. Brown has been associated with several law firms and a large legal services plan. As a member of the adjunct faculty at Oakland Community College, she was an instructor of family law in the paralegal program. In addition to her experience with family law, Ms. Brown has handled commercial litigation, business disputes, and real estate matters for both individual and corporate clients.
Ms. Brown is a native speaker of Russian and has represented many members of the local Russian speaking community. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Oakland County Bar Association.
