About Donald
Mr. Holm's practice concentrates in the representation of developers, lenders and investors in historic, new markets, renewable energy, and low-income housing tax credit transactions; securing PILOTs and other tax and business incentives for Firm clients; Native American economic development; public policy; taxation; real estate; corporate; finance; and, tax-exempt financing. He received a B.A. from Northwestern University; and, an M.A. in Accounting and J.D. from the University of Missouri - Columbia. He is a certified public accountant. He is a member of the Governing Committee of the American Bar Association's Forum on Affordable Housing and Community Development Law (the "Forum"); Committee Chair for the New Markets Tax Credits practice area for the Forum; a member of the Advisory Board of Novogradac & Company's publication, the NMTC Monthly Report; a board member of Preservation Action; a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation in the United States; a member of the League of Historic American Theatres; and, a member of the American Bar Association, Missouri Bar and Tennessee Bar. He is the author of a chapter entitled "Rehabilitation Tax Credits: An Important Community Revitalization Tool" in the book Building Healthy Communities: A Guide to Community Economic Development for Advocates, Lawyers and Policy Makers which was published in 2009 by the American Bar Association. Prior to joining Farris Bobango in 2007, Mr. Holm was the Vice President and General Counsel of National Trust Community Investment Corporation in Washington, DC, a national syndicator of historic and new markets tax credits and for-profit subsidiary of the National Trust for Historic Preservation in the United States.
