About Donald
Donald M. Maciejewski is a partner in the law firm of Zisser, Robison, Brown,Nowlis & Maciejewski, P.A. in Jacksonville, Florida. His plaintiffs'practice focuses primarily on aviation, airplane and helicopter crashlitigation, personal injury and complex product liability suits. Prior tojoining the firm, Don was a partner in another Jacksonville law firm, and beforepracticing law, he was a commissioned officer and helicopter pilot in the UnitedStates Army. He holds a commercial instrument rating in helicopters withextensive flight experience in UH1, OH58 and Hughes 300 aircraft. He is aretired Major in the United States Army Reserve. While in the military, MAJMaciejewski became a certified aircraft accident investigator and attendedadvanced courses in Crash Survival & Investigation. He is also a graduate ofthe Aviation Safety Officer's Course.
Don has represented Plaintiffs in a wide variety of air crash and productsliability cases involving commercial, general aviation and military aircraft. Hehas handled air crash cases in the continental United States (Florida, Georgia,Texas, Arizona, Hawaii, Nevada, Maryland, Kansas, Tennessee and Arkansas) aswell as overseas (South Africa, Ecuador, Mexico and Columbia), and hasrepresented victims of air carrier negligence against Gulfstream Air Lines,Delta, USAir and Continental Air Lines. He has also represented Plaintiffs invarious military air crash cases involving the UH-60 Blackhawk, F-14 Tomcat,Bell 206 Jet Ranger, Cessna 206, and AH-1 Cobra. Mr. Maciejewski has alsohandled major products liability suits all over the world. He is licensed topractice law in Florida, Georgia, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
Three of his more noteworthy cases include the representation of over 40victims in Tennessee who were seriously injured when a Navy F-14 Tomcat jetcrashed after takeoff into a residential neighborhood in Nashville. He alsorepresented some of the most seriously injured victims from a products liabilityfire and explosion catastrophe that occurred in Doha, Kuwait in July, 1991,following Desert Storm. He also represented 14 victims of an AMTRAC trainderailment that occurred in Smithfield, North Carolina. In addition to hisspecialty in aviation and products liability cases, Don also handles auto andtruck crash cases and personal injury and wrongful death cases.
Don received his Bachelor's degree from John Carroll University in biologyand chemistry, and his Master's degree from The University of SouthernCalifornia in safety engineering. He earned his Juris Doctor degree at theUniversity of Baltimore School of Law. He is a member of the American BarAssociation, and the State Bars of Maryland, Florida, Georgia and the Districtof Columbia. He is admitted to practice before the United States Court ofAppeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the United States Court of MilitaryAppeals. He is an active member of the Army Aviation Association of America, theAmerican Helicopter Society and the American Society of Safety Engineers and isa board-certified aviation law attorney. Don is a frequent lecturer on productsliability, safety and aviation law, and a former faculty member at the UnitedStates Army School of Aviation Medicine, where he taught aerospace medicine,altitude physiology and aeromedical evacuation. He teaches courses in AviationLaw and Products Liability Law at the Florida Coastal School of Law.
