A “basic” provisional is an application that is filed with documents (e.g., manuscript, abstract, or detailed poster) prepared by the client/inventor along with a set of representative independent claims for each of the various embodiments of the invention. A “detailed” provisional is an application that is filed with documents (e.g., background, summary, detailed description) prepared by the attorney along with a set of representative independent claims for each of the various embodiments of the invention.
