About E.

Tim graduated with a B.A. from Carnegie Mellon University, received a Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.  He received a post graduate certificate in International Law from course work at the Universities of London and Exeter.

He is licensed in the states of Pennsylvania (1982), Florida (2007) and Massachusetts (2011), and is a member of numerous Federal Courts, including the United States Supreme Court.  He is a member of the Barnstable County Bar Association.

Tim represented thousands of clients during a career spanning 38 years.  He tried cases against the country’s largest corporations concerning business disputes and personal injuries, including Johnson and Johnson, Ford, Smith and Nephew, Biomet, Stryker, DePuy, Zimmer, Merrill Lynch, Shearson and Lehman, Westinghouse, WSCRC, DCS, Castle and Cooke and many others.  His representation of injury victims resulted in millions of dollars of compensation.

Life in Florida inevitably resulted in Tim’s representation of both Homeowners Associations and residents of communities subject to HOA or Condo Association governance.  Twice Tim sought and received rare injunctions against HOA misconduct. Life in Florida during the Great recession and its accompanying housing crisis required representation of numerous clients in foreclosure defense, short sales, real estate closing and other related matters.

Improper attacks on clients and their businesses by opposing parties, who seek to leverage the anonymity of the internet, led to a familiarity with complex laws surrounding social media libel and slander.  Modern litigation against powerful law firms and vested interests requires great courage and tenacity on the part of the lawyer and the client, as well as judicious use of often scarce resources.

The most peaceful and personally rewarding part of Tim’s practice concerns Trusts, Estate Planning and Business structures.  In Pennsylvania, he advised National City Bank, People’s Bank of Unity and S&T Bank on Trust Department administration. Frequent lectures sponsored by civic associations like Rotary and Chamber of Commerce and on behalf of independent Brokers led to representation of hundreds of Estate Planning clients.  He addressed the altruistic concerns of these clients from protecting estates from high taxes, to managing funds to achieve generous donative intentions to benefit charities, e.g. the Salvation Army, the various universities, the Red Cross, the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), the Humane Society, Wounded Warriors and many others.  Often these charitable intentions are deeply private and personal, benefitting children or family members suffering from incapacity.  Regardless of the reason, Tim finds achieving these selfless goals very satisfying.

After nearly four decades of service to clients in numerous areas of the country and courts of law, Tim can provide valuable guidance about almost any area of law or legal concern.
