Over the past decade Lynn Seithel has litigated against some of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world including American Home Products, Wyeth, and Glaxosmithkline to name a few. She was one of the first to pursue lawsuits against the makers of Avandia®, Advair®, Paxil®, Serevent®, Vioxx®, Yaz®, and Trasylol®. Over the years, a large portion of her practice centered on representing parents and children in birth defect litigation as a result of mothers taking potentially dangerous drugs during pregnancy that lacked adequate safety warnings. Some of the potentially dangerous drugs during pregnancy include Paxil®, Zoloft®, Prozac®, Wellbutrin®, Depakote®, Diflucan®, Topomax® and Serequel®. Although she primarily concentrates on pharmaceutical litigation, her past experience includes work in tobacco and auto defect litigation as well.

Becoming a trial lawyer was inevitable for Bennett J. Schiller, III. He was born in Savannah, Georgia in 1968 the son of Bennett and Marie Schiller. Never having much in the material sense but having parents who put others first, taught Mr. Schiller to have compassion for others. When his family moved to Columbia, South Carolina for his father to attend Columbia Bible College times got even tougher. His dad went to school by day and worked in the cotton mill at night. This impressed upon Mr. Schiller at an early age that nothing replaces hard work and preparation. After graduating from Lexington High School as the Senior Class President, Mr. Schiller earned a full four year Citadel Scholars Scholarship for academics to The Citadel. While there, Mr. Schiller excelled both in the classroom and in public service to his school and community. He served as the President of Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity. He also was President of the College Republicans. Mr. Schiller earned many awards including Presidents List, Dean’s List, National Merit Scholars, and National Beta Club awards. He was a member of The Citadel Inn of Court and a member of The 1990 Summerall Guards. He earned a BA in Political Science in 1990 from The Citadel. Before attending law school, Mr. Schiller worked as an office services assistant at McNair Law Firm in Columbia, South Carolina. That is where he met his wife, Karoline Higgins Schiller. Today, they have four beautiful, healthy children. During his time in law school at the University of South Carolina School of Law, Mr. Schiller worked for a successful personal injury firm Lee, Eadon, Isgett and Popwell. It is there that Mr. Schiller developed the passion for serving injured families. While in law school Mr. Schiller served his fellow students and the student Senator to the University of South Carolina’s Student Senate. He also was the President of Phi Delta Phi, The Federalist Society and the Law Republicans. Mr. Schiller enjoyed volunteering at many local charities and organizations including the Oliver Gospel Mission and Harvest Hope Food Bank. After graduating from USC School of Law in 1994, Mr. Schiller went to work for a local personal injury firm in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He quickly realized the need to be on his own and co-founded the firm Atwater, Schiller and Reeves. During this time Mr. Schiller grew his practice to include Lancaster, Chester, York and Columbia, SC. Mr. Schiller was elected to serve the 16th Circuit as the Circuit Representative on the Young Lawyers Division of the South Carolina Bar Association. Continuing his public service, Mr. Schiller served on the Board of Directors for the Upper Palmetto YMCA. He and his wife have served on committee for Young Life of York County. Mr. Schiller is also a recent past President of his Home Owners Association. Recently Mr. Schiller moved his family to Beaufort to get back to his roots. He opened the Beaufort Office in November of 2011 and has grown steadily. He jumped right into serving the community. He is currently on the Board of Directors for the YMCA of Beaufort. He is a member of the Leadership Beaufort Class of 2014. Mr. Schiller currently represents many locals and looks forward to many years of service to the Low Country. Fighting for others and standing up for the rights of individuals no matter how difficult the circumstances are is what Bennett J. Schiller, III stands for. Ultimately, I decided to open my own practice to appeal to clients who desire a more personal and one-on-one experience from a lawyer. I pride myself on being unique to the practice of law and try to break the stereotype that most people have of lawyers, especially those in the personal injury field. By limiting the number of cases I take on, I am able to handle all aspects of the client’s case and devote more time, attention and finances to each client. I devote a substantial amount of resources to each client’s case, including hiring the appropriate engineers, medical experts, accident reconstructionists or health care planners that may be needed to properly litigate each claim to its fullest potential. My approach to the practice of law allows me to get to know each client on a personal level so that I am best able to present their story to a jury in hopes of getting the best result possible for each client. Many of my past clients have become life-long friends that I remain in touch with even after my representation. I consider a referral from a former client as the ultimate complement and testament to client satisfaction. All in all, we are a results-focused law firm that is passionate about helping people who are truly in need of quality representation throughout the legal process. I was originally born and raised in Lexington, South Carolina. I graduated from the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, receiving the highest distinction in my major. I graduated cum laude and was inducted into the prestigious Phi Alpha Theta honor society as a result of my academic achievements. I continue to remain dedicated to my alma mater by serving as a member of the College of Charleston Alumni Association. Following graduation, I earned my Juris Doctor from Charleston School of Law in Charleston, South Carolina. I was elected as an Articles Editor of the Charleston Law Review and Vice President of the Trial Advocacy Board. Throughout law school, I worked full time for a prominent personal injury firm, gaining invaluable litigation experience early on. I graduated from law school cum laude and earned CALI Awards for receiving the highest grade in Property I, Property II, Constitutional Law II and Business Associations. I began my legal career as a trial attorney at a small plaintiff’s firm in Charleston, South Carolina, and have been advocating for the rights of injured victims ever since. I have been able to gain considerable experience in the courtroom, litigating cases in both state and federal courts. Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and fit and have a genuine love for the outdoors. I begin each day waking up before sunrise to get a workout in. I also enjoy sports and traveling but, most than anything, I just enjoy the little bit of down time I get to spend with family and friends.

Patrick Aulton Chisum is a partner at Gruenloh Law Firm where he handles many different kinds of cases including: Personal injury Criminal defense Magistrate & probate court matters He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2007 and the Charleston School of Law in 2012. During law school, Patrick worked for the Georgetown County Public Defenders office, SCDHEC Ocean Coastal Resource Management and was a volunteer Guardian ad Litem. Prior to law school, he worked as an Estate Clerk for the Honorable Judge Amy McCulloch in the Richland County Probate Court. Patrick has been named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine for 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. He was also named as a 2014 South Carolina’s Outstanding Young Lawyers and Top 10 Under 40 by the Nationa Academy of Criminal Defense Attorneys.

Charlie is originally from Columbia, South Carolina. He attended The Citadel, graduating with a B.A. in English. After graduating from The Citadel, he attended University of South Carolina School of law, where he was named to the dean’s list. During law school, Charlie worked as a law clerk at several different litigation firms in preparation to be a trial attorney in the future. After graduation from law school, he served as the judicial law clerk for Circuit Court Judge D. Craig Brown, where he further gained insight into trial advocacy and civil litigation. After completing this judicial clerkship, he joined Schiller and Hamilton out of a desire to represent members of the South Carolina community who are injured and need a zealous advocate to help them be made whole.
