Edward Zampino is a Member of the firm and is resident in the Newark office. He is nationally regarded for his specialization in the insurance policy ""drafting history"" and ""regulatory estoppel"" issues that have significantly impacted insurance coverage litigation. He headed national strategic initiatives for a major casualty insurer. Edward also directed a nationwide Amicus Curiae Program, and participated in virtually every Supreme Court and federal or state appellate court case interpreting pollution exclusions, achieving victories that include the unprecedented reversal of the Florida Supreme Court decision in Dimmitt, the Oklahoma Supreme Court decision in Kerr-McGee, the Sinclair Oil decision rendered by the Wyoming Supreme Court, the California Court of Appeals decision in ACL Technologies, the Washington Supreme Court decision in Alcoa, the decision of the New York Court of Appeals in Northville, the Texas Supreme Court decision in CBI Industries, the Delaware Supreme Court decision in DuPont, and many federal circuit court decisions.

Edward has written 15 articles on environmental coverage issues and provides expert consultation to insurers and their counsel across the country. He also provides expert reports and testimony in connection with pollution exclusion issues in environmental coverage litigation.

Edward also litigates significant cases in other coverage fields in conjunction with the firm's insurance department.

Edward earned his bachelor of arts degree at Montclair State University in 1976 and his law degree at Seton Hall University School of Law in 1980, where he was the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award. He was admitted to practice in New Jersey in 1980. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable John G. Geronimo, Civil Assignment Judge of the New Jersey Superior Court, Hudson County.
