About Elliott
Elliott K. Braverman, Chair of Spector Gadon & Rosen's Income Tax Department, brings over 40 years of tax-related legal experience to the firm's tax group. He was previously a senior partner and chairman of the tax department at Blank Rome, LLP (Philadelphia, PA).
Mr. Braverman currently focuses his practice on several substantive areas, regularly counseling clients on tax issues related to real estate acquisitions, syndications, workouts, restructurings, and similar transactions. He also devotes substantial effort to tax-related issues for closely held companies, the sale, purchase and recapitalization of businesses, and business continuity planning, including transfers between generations. Closely associated with these efforts is his wealth of experience in accounting, tax and related issues involved in raising capital for growing businesses and positioning such businesses for sale, public offering, etc. He also has extensive experience in all aspects of estate planning and estate taxes.
Mr. Braverman is a frequent lecturer on tax and accounting-related subjects, as well as estate planning, to many professional groups and area institutions and has authored numerous articles in tax and legal publications. He is a member of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and American Bar Associations, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a CPA and former attorney advisor for the Tax Court of the United States. Mr. Braverman is a graduate (with honors) of the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton School) and Temple University School of Law (with honors), and holds an LL.M. in taxation from New York University Law School where he was also a Teaching Fellow.
Mr. Braverman has long been active in charitable and civic affairs. He has been a long time member and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Wordsworth Academy, an expanding not-for-profit health and human services institution, and is a member of its executive committee. Mr. Braverman was elected by his peers as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Boys' Town Jerusalem and has served on the Boards of numerous other not-for-profit organizations.
