Questions & Answers

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

There is an old adage that although you may be able to rely on experience to get you through when you haven't had time to prepare thoroughly- there is no substitute for thorough preparation. My suggestion would be look for a lawyer that has extensive experience in cases of your type, and has the time and tenacity to thoroughly prepare your case.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

It can make all the difference in the world. For example, in a criminal case, having tried cases in front a particular Judge gives a lawyer valuable insight to share with a client regarding that Judge's thoughts on particular legal issues, views on particular types of cases, and tendencies in sentencing and disposition.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

A phone consultation is often an effective method to asses a potential case, for both client and lawyer. I find that I can generally tell a client if they have a viable legal claim, and how I would handle that case for them, or, in a criminal case, I find that I can generally identify defenses and defense strategy during a phone consultation.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I've been handling personal injury, criminal defense and worker's compensation cases for more than 20 years. I'm licensed in all state and federal courts in Maryland, as well as in New York and Florida.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

I've helped thousands of people through the years, whether that is getting them the money they deserve and redress for their injuries, or getting a favorable resolution of a pending criminal charge.
