About Eric
Eric V. Jeppesen is a shareholder of JGS and a leading practitioner of estate law, including estate planning, estate tax, wills and trusts, probate, elder law, Medicaid and long range health care planning, asset protection, individuals with special needs, and estate related litigation. Eric is a frequent speaker on estate planning, elder law and Medicaid matters.
Eric is a skilled trial lawyer whose practice also covers a wide range of business matters for both individuals and companies on issues including purchase and sale transactions, business structuring, agreements and disputes. He also has represented professionals before state and agency licensing boards.
The Washington State Bar admitted him to practice in 1976. He has been with JGS since 1980. Eric's Juris Doctorate degree (J.D.) is from the University of Idaho, with an undergraduate degree from Boise State University.
Among his professional associations are the Washington State, King County and East King County Bar Associations, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He has sat on various state and local Bar Association Committees.
As former president and trustee of the East King County Bar Association, he helped create the Eastside Legal Assistance Program which was awarded the Washington State Bar Association's Pro Bono Service Award in 1992. He has served on the board of Evergreen Legal Services (now Columbia Legal Services), as trustee of the King County Bar Association and Chairman of the Washington State Bar Association Committee on Attorneys Professional Insurance.
Eric's community service has included volunteering for Kiwanis Club of Seattle, the People's Law School of the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association, and the Guardianship Delinquency Calendar in King County Superior Court, Rotary and frequent speaker at senior centers.
