This past December we realized our mom needed to go into long term care, and since what assets she had needed to care for my disabled brother, we needed an expert who specialized in elder law to help us not only set up a trust fund to provide for his care, but also help my mom qualify for Medicaid. After doing some research I found out that the Alexander Law firm was the most experienced and the highest rated firm in the Raleigh area, so I attended one of their seminars to get more information. It was one of the smartest decisions I’ve ever made in my life, because thanks to Bill Alexander and his incredible staff, my mom qualified for Medicaid shortly after they prepared and submitted her application, and her assets are now providing my brother with the care he needs.

First, I need to pass on thanks and compliments. Madeline was approved for Medicaid, effective July first. Tracy, Medicaid and VA Programs Manager, then made sure that the effective date was corrected and changed to June first. The Business Manager at Madeline’s rest home called me, and said whoever the lawyer was that handled this did an amazing job. He said whatever we had to pay you was money well spent. Then, his best compliment was that you had fought the government, and won, and in his experience, that didn’t happen very often. Thanks especially to Tracy. You were persistent, and I think I am correct in saying that dealing with my County, which was a new county DHHS for you to work with, was unusually difficult.... Tracy, you can explain that navigation to Bill and Colleen, if they don’t already know, much better than I can. Kudos!! I wish I had been aware of your firm and Medicaid/Elder Care services several months earlier. You took the stress and uncertainty off my shoulders. Had I known about you, you could have saved me that stress much sooner, and saved us thousands of dollars in costs as well, but I am still thankful that I was eventually referred to you. Bill did an excellent job, in our first phone call, of laying out the options and steps we would need to take, and explained the process quickly in a way that was easily understandable. I felt confident that our family situation would be in good hands with WGA Law, and that turned out to be true. I would encourage anyone who has questions and concerns about elder care to discuss their situation with you. You do charge an initial consultation fee, but the benefits to me have been priceless as you led us through the myriad of government requirements. Thank you very much. I am glad for the chance to provide this positive review for you.

As part of our permanent relocation to Raleigh, we had decided to put in place a Special Needs Trust for our adult son and take care of other legal matters related to our estate. This, of course, is not a matter to take lightly and we had done research and looked for recommendations from trusted sources. Mr. Alexander's name was one of three we were given, and we are very glad that we chose to work with his firm to complete our task list. Not only are Mr. Alexander and staff knowledgeable and professional, they are as kind as the day is long. They were very responsive and helpful as we worked our way through all the twists and turns of planning such a delicate matter. They also offered extremely helpful, sound and clear recommendations on how to proceed regarding all the corollaries. We got from them not just advice on how to plan our estate, they helped us work through the more complex aspects of making arrangements for our son's care and guidance when we are no longer around. We conducted all this business during a time when everyone has been navigating the complications of COVID, lockdowns, etc. Zoom is not the warmest medium through which one can communicate with others, much less when it pertains to legal matters, but it was very easy to establish a positive rapport with Bill Alexander. He put us at ease and was very patient with our many questions. The same goes for Ms. Truelove; she was very proactive in generating documents, helping us understand them and establishing a good flow of information between us and Bill. As if all that wasn't enough, we had the immense pleasure (masks, COVID-precautions, so on and so forth) of meeting with Bill and staff in person to sign our paperwork. Attending to these matters with our son present can be difficult because among the particularities of his disability are anxiety and difficulty in communicating. Ms. Truelove helped us put a plan of action in place and our son felt comfortable and at ease, and we did our business successfully and with no fuss or difficulty for him. The professionalism of W.G. Alexander & Associates combined with their amazing kindness and understanding made this an incredible experience. They took all our worries and concerns and disassembled them one by one through diligence, sound advice and human warmth. We cannot say enough good things about this law firm. Highly recommend!

I cannot say enough about Bill Alexander and Colleen...They did such a wonderful job on filing my papers and making sure everything was too the T. Anytime I called they were so helpful when asking questions. Just very prompt and knew the answer right away. What a great lawyer and the staff he has on hand are the best. We stay away from lawyers because we don't know if we can trust them...not this law firm. Thank you to all of you for helping me during this stressful time...
