I made a mistake in hiring the firm, While Carmen was pleasant to speak with, she informed me the retainer was $3,500 plus $2,500 per trial date, would be two. After searching for legal defense stopped after I made contact with other firms, felt Carmen was a ideal candidate for my defense . At the first meeting at the courthouse Audra introduced herself as the legal assistant. "I work with the attorneys" Some how Audra became my attorney. The last meeting at eh courthouse Audra informed me "didn't look good for you." Additionally informed me would cost $8,000 to $10, 000 or more she didn't know. The firm will delay response to your inquires I sent an email, no reply mailed letter no reply. As another's review go COLD once the retainer is in their account. is true. After my experience and the violations of Chapter 32 Iowa codes of professionals, I used to fire the firm... Lack of communication . Increase in defense from 2,500 to 8 to 10k unreasonable fees even the judge found it excessive and unreasonable. Audra had little intentions of defending me as I tried to speak did not want to her from me How can legal assistant suddenly be promoted to attorney? Charge for everything (just to ask about parking) cost me $70 to speak with Olivia the secretary I notified the firm via email for termination of services and to stop all billing. The bill was at $700 in 3 months, with all the constant contact by Audra was over, the check was for less than 1/2 of the $3,500 retainer. in 3 weeks of Audra burring up the retainer. To hire this firm you better have a large bank account or a good job is my advice. Make your own judgement call to find out for yourself. to hire Carmen is my recommendation, the 1 star. The replacement legal defense while I limit contact will respond in reasonable amount of time. Not the prolonged period of time as with Anderson & Taylor., well over a month and longer. Believe the negative reviews ,note on an 5 star is Olivia Moore, it could be by chance or is the firms legal secretary? You decide, who are the 5 star reviews? Lucas worked diligently on my behalf to get my case resolved. He’s very intelligent with his practice and takes every step with caution. He truly knows his work. He is very responsive and keeps you informed every step of the way. He answered all my questions via phone before hiring him before even knowing what we were looking at. I can’t thank him enough for his work. The best out there.

I had Audra as my attorney she was absolutely great! Did amazing work, super personable called me with any and all updates. Answered my questions at anytime of day/night would highly recommend! When she was in trial Karmen showed up for her also a great person! Audra even showed up to my first probation meeting when she had absolutely no obligations too! Would recommend to anyone.

Got my case dismissed without me ever having to show up to court. They made the whole experience simple, easy, and stress free! Highly recommend

Just came from their office today 12/14/2023 at 12.00 pm. I was looking to talk to Audrey who previously successfully represented me. I entered reception area ,the desk was empty. I stood facing reception desk with some paperwork on my hands for 1 minute. a tall middle aged white bowhead man came the room on the right side. I don’t his name or position. No greeting; no can help you; upon opening his mouth he said to me “ your not welcome here!” I replied can can I speak to Audrey? He replied “ you’re not welcome here, please leave now!” I turned to the door and got my coffee black face out of that office. At the parking I called their number on google. A lady answered. She was pleasant, told me Audrey no longer works there. I was really shocked by that man, never have I experienced that in iowa before; much less from a law firm on whom I spent about $3500 2 years ago! I wish I could feel different but Des Moines being the most diverse city in iowa, please extend courtesy and respect to all. We’re one people.
