I am a member of Legal Shield and I was referred to Attorney Kevin Breen by them for a real estate matter. Mr. Breen called me a few weeks ago to talk about my legal issue and I informed him that I recently purchased a home 4/23 and ever since I moved into the home I've been making repairs and this home was advertised as almost new. Since living in the home I've made plumbing, electrical, and roof repairs almost from day one. I informed Mr. Breen that I have spent upwards 11,000 in repairs thus far and would like to sue the individuals I bought the house from. He informed me that deals with hundreds of thousands of dollars and why would I spend 5,000 trying to get 11,000 back. I informed him that I bought my home for 235,000 and it was worth 249,000 and I am still making repairs. He said he would take a look at the documentation sent to my legal shield law firm and to send him the receipt for the cost to repairs to the roof. He told he would get back to me after looking at the paperwork. I waited a week with no response from him so I called and left him a message. Into the next week I call him again and he finally calls me back because was unable to clearly here my voicemail message that I just left. Now he is telling me it is not worth seeking legal action against the sellers and it would be much more worth his while if this was a big company with insurance and if he takes my case he will need 10,000. I asked Mr. Breen what is the discounted price since I am a member of legal shield. He asked me what was included in my membership and informed him 25% off of the hourly rate. Mr. Breen said 25% off his 300.00 dollars per hour would be around 240.00 and hour and he still wants 10,000 dollars to retain him. I find this type of behavior abhorrent, he is rude and unprofessional he oshould remove himself from the legal shield’s referral list if he expecting to get certain cases or whatever ones he feels is worth his time. Also, 25% off of 300 would make his hourly rate 225 an hour not 240. I also consider this price gouging and an attempt to discourage me from seeking his legal services by doubling his feed and not adding the 25% discount to the fees. Well I will definitely take my business elsewhere.

I reached out to Kevin Breen at a time I was in desperate need of advice - he was quick to respond and set a meeting. His office staff is warm and easy to talk to and is business manner is top-notch. He is direct and straight to the point, honest and works quickly. His sense of humor added levity at a time I needed it! I can't thank him enough. If I were to ever be in a situation needing counsel again, he would be my first call.
