Reviews

J. Bissell Robertswas randomly assigned as our real estate mediator. We bought a house that was greatly misrepresented and cost us $15,000 in necessary repairs and replacements. As advised by our attorney, Rob DeWeese, we turned in all the receipts a month in advance along with explanations. We answered Mr. Robert's assistant's questions in a timely manner. It was apparent the day of the mediation appointment that Mr. Robert's was unprepared and he was asking basic questions about the receipts and summary of what occurred that made it apparent he had not taken the time to review the information. He came back to us after speaking with the owners and real estate agent saying "they didn't know anything about any of the broken, malfunctioning or construction that needed to be replaced objects. Neither did the realtor. We were offered a few hundred dollars and that was the end of the discussion. Our only option was to spend more money taking it to arbitration. After we paid our attorney we cleared $400. I thought mediators reviewed objective proof, reviewed explanations from both sides and came to a fair solution. Not walk in and respond to my attorney's greeting with "I've been so busy I haven't had time to do anything." That was obvious.
