I worked with Mary Ann for months to draw up a trust (that in truth should have taken far less time). After the trust was finalized, I receive a letter from the County Assessor – she hadn't checked the status of my joint ownership of a property and in filing the trust, broke the joint tenancy on record and therefore the property taxes would be reassessed to current market value instead of the price we paid a decade ago. We were potentially going to be charged around $20K in additional taxes annually. Mary Ann did not adequately support fixing the problem, only offering a letter to the county clerk, that upon review by the clerks office, I was told that letter would make matters worse. In the end, I had to work with the county clerks office myself to fix the issue. When I wrote to advise Mary Ann to put her malpractice insurer on notice, I never heard back. Absolutely so disappointed in the errors, the lengthy process for a trust and the lack of professionalism to resolve the problem she created.
