Dr. Berg himself is a very nice and friendly person. However, his staff members, especially those at the front desk, are incredibly RUDE. They are impossible to deal with, and their behavior towards patients is UNACCEPTABLE! Shouting at and belittling patients is their daily routine! I am actively looking for an alternative office to switch to ASAP. Although I have to give Dr. Berg full credit for his nice behavior, it is impossible to keep using his office without a significant change in the staff's attitude towards customer care and satisfaction!
I was referred to him by the manager of another sleep center he said "Dr Berg is the top doctor in the field of sleep apnea and sleep disorders" therefore he refers out all complex cases to Dr Berg. When I visited Dr Berg I was surprised on how patiently and articulately he answered all my questions and concerns. Besides for being a great expert in this field - his bedside manner is unsurpassable. Never in my life have I met a doctor with such great bedside manner!
I had a telemedicine appointment with Dr Berg today for Covid. He refused to prescribe Paxlovid despite it being clearly indicated for covid and me being eligible for it. What is worse, he told me that Paxlovid is a medication of last resort that should not be prescribed earlier. This is factually false. In fact Paxlovid has to be given within the first 5 days of the symptom onset otherwise it is ineffective. When I confronted him with actual medical guidelines for the prescription, he said "well I'm a physician and I refuse to prescribe it". There you have it. This guy would rather have power over you and lie to you than to do what is right. There is a certain power that doctors have over patients. It is sad when this power is used in a way to preserve doctor's ego. It is double sad when doctor feeds patient falsehoods to convince you that what they are doing is right.
