I was referred to Amanda Walker at BEVER DYE, LC, by an acquaintance. When I initially reached out, I explained my tax situation to her. My previous tax attorney took advantage of me financially. I explained that I would need assistance dealing with a tax issue but wanted to avoid receiving surprise bills. I asked her to send me the standard engagement form to review. I had several questions regarding how the firm would bill. She was able to respond and clarify for me. I told her I would wait for my CPA before proceeding or signing the agreement. Ms. Walker was super friendly, knowledgeable, and seemed very professional. Roughly two months later, she sent me a bill of almost $300. I was very disappointed because she seemed to have high integrity. The billing process might be standard practice for all attorneys. Please note that if you reach out to this firm, they will bill you regardless of whether you sign the agreement. Even if you call to wish them a good day, expect to receive a bill. This demonstrated that they only care about the bottom dollar, not the client.
They called me out of the blue and harassed me. They were extremely unprofessional and threatening. Then they hung up on me. I wondered if the call was a prank until I did a reverse phone search and discovered that they're actually a law firm. I can't speak for the entire firm, but whoever called me was SUPER unprofessional. Furthermore, they were in a position to clarify an issue for an elderly family member of mine, but instead didn’t do their due diligence and facilitated a “falling out” that was completely unnecessary. They could have, and SHOULD HAVE counseled my aunt instead of just taking her money!
We have been using Bever Dye for our legal support for our business since we opened (2010). Scott has been tremendous! He is the most knowledgeable and organized person I think that I have ever worked with at any level. He helped us with establishing our LLC, Partnership, Lease and tax law. He thought of things that we would have never thought of, and literally saved us THOUSANDS in the process. I once said that there are just about 3 people I would trust 100% without question, my parents, my wife, and Scott. After we got the business rolling and some years later, we unfortunately had to reach out to BOB to handle some matters with our father and his estate. He was helpful and got us taken care of in a situation that we didn't want to be in. These guys have hearts of gold, and 1000% know what they are doing. We wouldn't think of having anyone help us out!
