I hired Bornstein Law to help me with an owner move in for my property in San Francisco. It is intimidating navigating through the complexities of SF rental laws but Daniel took the time to thoroughly read my lease agreement and explain his strategy as well as the steps that I needed to take to cover myself legally through out the process. His correspondence was prompt, concise and his firm was conscientious of time and billing. I am very pleased with the outcome and I am certain it would not have been possible without his attention to detail and professionalism. I would definitely recommend him to anyone negotiating San Francisco tenant law. Absolutely worth it!
Disclaimer: I was a resident evicted by Bornstein Law. I am also a law school graduate.nnBornstein Law, and Daniel Bornstein in particular, are the sum of every negative stereotype about lawyers. I have graduated from Washington University School of Law and can say without a doubt, these are the most unethical lawyers I have ever encountered. I will give them credit though, they did get me out of my apartment without paying me a dime. They also did so illegally, unethically, and then robbed me of all my possessions. On top of that, they managed to skirt the ethics violations I filed against them. nnI had prior history with Bornstein Law and objected to them being used in the first place. As I predicted, they refused to return any of my phone calls and would not talk with me about the foreclosure that took place on the property that I was renting. They then conspired to illegally evict me from the property. Daniel Bornstein had new numbers put on the outside of the property. He brought the Sherriff one hour before a court appearance to make sure that I never saw the judge. They knew the property was under an enforcement action from DBI and still failed to notify the Court. They even assisted a con-artist in torturing me in their capacity as volunteers with the AIDS Legal Referral Panel.nnIf you are a landlord determined to win at all costs, Bornstein Law is typically successful. However I believe in karma and ethical lawyering. Come judgement day, I wouldn't want to be Daniel Bornstein.
I love this guy. He is completely incompetent. As a tenant who he tried to evict I can say it took him two years and cost his client tens of thousands. Eventually his client fired him. He's great for simple easy evictions. Cookie cutter stuff against people who don't have a decent lawyer but anything beyond that just terrible.
Awesome and un_equal professional assistance, protection, and general knowledge of the law, and the wisdom to help us with criminal justice and realtor experience. Thank you so much.
If I could, Daniel Borenstein would be getting a negative 1. This man is one of those lawyers who flies by the seat of his pants, anbd is reckless. He does not care about the collateral damage his free-wheeling, ignorant, and pathetically short sighted business practices cause, to whom, or any other aspect of how he damages people and their lives. He is unskilled, reckless, and he is happy with work that is 'good enough for government' - aka barely adequate. Avoid this firm and this attorney if you want a complete and thorough job done.
