I hired this firm, based on a family recommendation, to assist with a case where a client refused to pay over $30,000 owed for work completed. While the reason the invoices built up was completely my mistake, the approach of this firm to the dishonest client could still have been way better.nnMr. Branaugh is a nice guy. But when dealing with dishonest people who refuse to pay, you (sadly) need someone "mean." You will not find that here. The firm approached my client way too softly and I needed to pull teeth to get the firm to really pursue them?and even then, interaction was frustratingly lax. Knowing my client, the soft approach only encouraged them to be more boldly adverse to paying. I ended up with $0.00 when I think at least SOMETHING could have been obtained for my many months of work.nnThe reason for my low rating is simply that?not receiving any payment aside?I did not get the pursuit of the client I paid for. On top of that, services purchased, including those recommended by the firm, were expensive.nnIf the firm was honest, at least part of what I paid would be refunded.nn---nUPDATE 01/02/2018:nnIn followup to the firm's response below:nMy review is based primarily on my hiring of this firm to collect over $31,000 owed by a client.nnThere was a second non-profit firm owned by the same client that owed me a much smaller amount. I was able to collect only $1,000 from the non-profit as a final settlement?which was handled and collected by me, not the firm. The firm's involvement in the small payment was minimal and they were not responsible for collecting the $1,000.nnThe mutual release of claims was a benefit to me?but I paid several hundred dollars more for it after the firm already failed to do what I paid them to do. Of course that is a benefit to me, but is hardly relevant to the purpose of this review: This firm did not do what they were paid to do. And if they are not willing to aggressively pursue money that needs collected, then they need to let their clients know up front that that is not their approach. Unfortunately, that is usually the only way to get it done. To not inform clients in the future that they are not willing to be aggressive would be, in my opinion, dishonest.
