Mr. Yonkers is extremely professional and very well versed in Michigan law pertaining to estate planning. My husband and I knew what we wanted to accomplish with our estate plan but had no idea how to do it. Prior to our appointment with Mr Yonkers the firm requested copies of all pertinent documents, and surveyed our wishes for end of life care to review before the meeting. At the meeting Mr Yonkers asked a thorough set of questions regarding our goals, assets and family. With that information he was able to develop a plan that will shield us from unnecessary taxes and allow us to maintain control over our estate. A bonus was that a meeting was set up to review the final plan via Zoom so that our daughters who live several hours away could hear the plan and ask questions. I have since come to understand that not all firms provide these services. I would highly recommend Brogan and Yonkers for anyone beginning the estate planning process.

This firm does an outstanding job with estate planning. They are thorough and professional. They are fully abreast of the current law and trends. They carefully explain options and the pros and cons of each. I am a lawyer, but not in estate planning and have been very impressed. Attorney John Yonkers does not follow the law! My sister-in-law was named the executor of my father-in-law's estate in August of 2023. My husband and daughter (for whom I have durable power of attorney for all financial matters) have repeatedly asked for information about the assets and liabilities of the trust for the past 11 months, and no substantive information has been provided. The trust documents stipulate that at the 6 month mark after the passing of my father-in-law, a full accounting of assets and liabilities to date would be provided, and that was due in February, and we never received anything. It is now July 22, 2024, almost 11 months since the passing of my beloved father-in-law, and John and his client Cheryl Cowell are still withholding information. We have asked for banks statements and they have repeatedly not provided this information. We have also asked for itemized receipts for ALL expenses, and this has also not been provided. The family home was sold last week, and we have no details. John does not follow Michigan Trust Law. Steer clear of this shyster!
