I requested a consultation and received a response from executive assistant Xian Rusnak. I was informed that Cascadia Cross Border Law Group charges $1,000 for a 90-minute consultation. For those that do not know the typical cost of a consultation, $1,000 is beyond ridiculous. The Alaska Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service requires their lawyers to charge no more than $125 for a 30-minute consultation, which is plenty of time. For these people to charge $1,000 they are either 1) taking advantage of ignorant people, or 2) only servicing wealthy clientele. Regardless, $1,000 for a consultation is border-line unethical. I would recommend you contact the Bar Association and request a lawyer from them before going with this law group.
