Catherine C Burkey, Pc

Ms. Burkey came highly recommended by family that had used her many years ago. My case is a very complicated case and requires alot of time. I explained this to Ms. Burkey on intake and I was under the impression that we were in good hands. This was in June of last year. We are now 10 Months into this case and she has continued my case several times, to the point that we have extinguished all of our continues. Due to "illness" and "Medical procedures." Even though I was understanding with this, Ms. Burkey called the day I was supposed to have court and explained that she wanted to withdraw. She called several times through the 10 months asking what parenting time the other party had with my children and she is the one who set it up with me. The other party attempted to relinquish rights and Ms. Burkey for some reason would not let her do this. For every personal issue that had nothing to do with me, she charged my account and depleted it to less than 1000 dollars. When it was under the 1000 dollar mark, she then asked to withdraw with no explanation to me except, "She is not getting anywhere." I have written a formal complaint to the bar in hopes to get something back from this horrible experience. But I would advise that if you know what's best for you seek another console. She will make things more difficult and want you to spend around 10k before she will even take time to work on your case.

I waited months for a consultation back in 2019. When the day came she sat me down and explained everything needed. I showed her all sides, even the bad :( she didn't charge me any fees and told me everything I needed to do. Said I was smart enough and she would be wasting my money. Well guess what..... Catherine was right! I have won every motion for my daughters case against a reputable law firm in GJ. No results were not imediate and it took a lot of work (hence why I am now writing the review.) The wait was worth it. Thank you Catherine!

Catherine and her team are top notch! She is straight to the point and won't waste your time. I feel confident working with this team that the desired outcome will be met in a timely manner. Highly recommend!

Set an appointment with Catherine, explained everything specifically and completely and was set to have a consultation in a week, after waiting almost 3 months her legal assistant called me this morning and yelled at me being rude and this is all recorded on my work line, and refused to tell me why they are canceling my appointment so not only rude, disrespectful, unethical, and hung up on me after wasting all this time so DO NOT GIVE THIS CRAZY PERSON YOUR MONEY they probably would steal it. Excuses and unprofessionalism is what you'll get from them they are very incompetent.

Catherine was my lawyer 9 years ago and absolutely the best lawyer in Grand Junction! I’ve witnessed other lawyers over the last 9 years and no one compares to Catherine, so pleased how she handled my divorce and custody case. She is the best!!!
