I highly recommend working with this firm. They are attentive, responsive and are truly on your side. Ryan made what should have been a tedious and stressful process seamless. Even with the 3 hour time difference, he would spend countless evening and weekend hours gathering information, understanding my side, and making sense of everything I shared. He was extremely patient, diligent, and just highly communicative. We ended up winning this case, and it was truly the hard work of this team. Thank you so much!
Allison Van Kampe and her team at Outer & Golden, LLP did a superb job helping me with a legal matter. Ali is the penultimate professional - in her demeanor, her ability to listen and appreciate my concerns, her negotiations, and her savvy knowledge of legal precedence. She was always responsive to me and to her responsibilities representing me. Her presentations were clearly communicated with attention to not only clarity, but persuasiveness and impact. I was so delighted with her superb performance on my behalf. Grateful that she was able to fit my case into her busy schedule. I highly recommend her without hesitation to anyone needing legal expertise in this field .
To put it simply, Allison saved my life. She successfully negotiated a settlement with my former employer at a moment when my mental health was shaky due to my departure. Treated me like a person — not a mere client. She couldn’t have cut a better deal or been a better advocate. She gave me a sense of being seen and understood at a time when I felt like the world was against me and I needed a strong but caring friend in my corner. Kind with me. A d tough with everyone else. I’m forever grateful and recommend her to the moon and stars. Thank you, Ali, for being my friend and lawyer. Both. My. More than you know.
The legal professionals at Otten & Golden reached out to me about a class action suit that a former employer was not paying their employees accurately for their time and after consideration, I joined the suit. They then proceeded to get the money I was owed even though I wasn't within the lines of the class action suit and were able to help me in every capacity. Couldn't say anything better than they took care of my interests in totality!
Outten & Golden stands out in the best way. If your decision to take legal action against your employer is a strong emotional reaction after a single occurrence, or after long and painful endurance of bad behaviors, it makes no difference. The process is not for the faint of heart, and you need the right people to lead you through it. My team at Outten & Golden should be the gold standard that all employment law firms aspire to become. From my very first phone call it was clear that humans beings with compassion work here. The call-back from Allison Van Kampen, who was to become the lead attorney on my team, assured me that they also have an amazing combination of professionalism; current case-law knowledge; respect for, and accountability to their clients. Covid made no difference to their accessibility and responsiveness. During the long settlement process, my legal team communicated clearly. They assured me and managed my expectations realistically. Their tenacity and respect for the legal profession and its proper procedures was leagues ahead of all others involved. If this sounds different from the horror stories people share of having to chase their lawyers down and false promises … it’s because it is different. Outten & Golden is different. They are O.G. in the slang sense of the term. Something or someone who is exceptional, extraordinary, authentic, or "old-school", persons who have time, experience, and credibility in something. OG’s “something” is employment law, and their incredible ability to support harmed employees through an understanding of the laws that are here to protect them, educate their clients on realistic possible outcomes and strategy. Most extraordinary is their constant encouragement for self care through the process and preparation of their client for the possible long-game. Now, years after my case was successfully resolved, I read a recent article co-written by Allison (my lead attorney,) regarding the prevalence of insidious behaviors that women of color endure in the workplace. I told her, “You get it, Ali. You’ve gotten the closest of anyone I’ve met, to understanding the Black female employee experience in this country, without being a person of color yourself. You do so with empathy and not condescending pity or overcompensating fawning.” Isn’t it great to know there are people just a phone call away who will hear you AND see you? … then fight for you to be fairly compensated when laws are broken? If you think you need them, call them now.
