D'Amato & Lynch used to be a competent insurance coverage law firm when George D'Amato & Luke Lynch were still alive. Unfortunately, nepotism ruins a lot of good companies, and that seems to be what happened here. After George and Luke passed away, Luke Lynch's son, Luke Jr. inherited the firm and it was pretty much all downhill from there. Junior alienated all of the firm's top talented, such as Richard George and Ken Sagat, who left to join other firms, and took the firm's top lawyers with them. The attorneys who stayed behind worked almost exclusively for AIG and were repeatedly criticized for the quality of their work and high billing.
