I couldn’t have prayed for a better attorney! Murl Woods got my case just a few days before my hearing and she didn’t have all the information she needed to win. However, Murl fought for me tooth and nail and was an outstanding attorney! If I had to use to go to Dakota Plains legal services again I would fight to have Murl Woods represent me. She is personable, caring, passionate about her work, sensitive, and a pitbull in the courtroom. Thank you, Murl for all that you do for me and fighting my case. I will always have a special place in my heart for you.
Went into office the front desk lady Cori was absolutely amazing with all the help and direction. Very pleasant atmosphere, very clean and the people there are very helpful.
I had questions and needed help filling out paperwork for a divorce. The person I was assigned to did not seem interested in helping me at all. Very short with me, very dismissive, and didn't even look at the documents I brought in. I felt like I was interrupting or wasting her time, even though I had made an appointment. My appointment was literally 15-20 minutes long and then my case was closed the very same day as my appointment. Which I was made aware of by a letter I received a few days later.
I don’t even want to rate them a one star. As soon as I walked in the door the environment is extremely unfriendly. All the doors were open while attorneys sat and gossiped about other people’s cases. I heard them do nothing but bash their clients for their charges. Laughed about the help they were asking for. I finally get help and Leah ceranski clearly knows nothing about her job description. First question that was asked she had to leave the room to ask how to answer it. She would rather eat than help people. This place is a joke. The receptionist is also very unpleasant to talk to. I wouldn’t recommend going here for any legal help. They’re hired to HELP people!! If you don’t have compassion for what you do. Get a different job!!! Easy as that
They handled my divorce from an abusive ex-wife. It was free because I qualified for it as legal aide. Worked out great because I'm disabled. You kind of get what you pay for though in that regard. They weren't willing to help me pursue a restraining order or getting back property. It was just for filing the divorce paperwork and getting it done. It took them 6 months to do it, mainly because I think they forgot about me. I wrote emails to the one they provided and never got a response so finally I called, the first thing they said was "Oh we didn't forget about you!" If you have to say that unprompted, it looks like that's what happened. Either way, it was cheaper than a regular lawyer. If you have no other options they're pretty reasonable.
