This attorney has absolutely no sense of social responsibility and no concerns about representing collection agencies that break and push the limits of the law. David Schumacher refused to respond to my calls and faxes about the fact that the company he was representing was garnishing money that is NOT subject to garnishment, even though the paperwork he sent me encouraged me to call him about objections to the debt. He refused to respond to documents I faxed him (as attorney Matt Arbaugh advised) that informed him the money was not subject to garnishment (I have copies of the fax to prove that I did notify them and they continued to hold the money anyway); he refused to return any of my calls or respond to any of my messages. Columbia Collections, the people he chose to represent, garnished $354 in federal financial aid money for college. I could not afford an attorney to take them to court in the matter, so I filed for bankruptcy. This company that David chose to represent is so corrupt, they advised me at the beginning of this mess that "The best thing to do would just be to take out enough student loans to pay" the debt, otherwise they would continue to take my financial aid money for school anyway. The representative of Columbia Collections that I spoke with did not care that this money is not subject to garnishment. The collections agency added 300% of the original debt in fees. My original debt was $574 to Legacy Health Systems, and the final sum was $2001. The fact that David is willing to represent these crooks is extremely socially irresponsible. Consider the fact that I accrued this debt when I had to go to the hospital without insurance (much of Columbia Collections' clientele is made up of impoverished people with medical debt as indicated by the over-representation of people in this situation on the company's google reviews page). As a foster child, there were no provisions for insurance for me and I spent the first 4 years of my adult life (that's when this happened) homeless. Then, Columbia Collections sued me because I had to go to the hospital for a severe urinary tract infection while I was homeless. This company has no morals, no respect for the law (they'll take advantage of any loophole), and is by far the most socially irresponsible company I've ever interacted with. So, if David is ready and willing to represent them, then that also makes him socially irresponsible as well, and it makes his efforts to elude my calls nothing more than colluding with Columbia Collections to break the law.

Would be nice if this Law Office would contact me via email. I have a garnishment through your office and want to know what it's for.
