Lin is incredible. Smart, compassionate and an excellent trial lawyer. Her real talent is hard cases — domestic violence, coercive control cases (especially where the custody issues are complicated). I had several lawyers before her who were clueless and gave me boilerplate lawyering. They wanted quick money for a settlement that would’ve left us in danger. Lin is creative and not afraid to fight the hard fight. She saves a lot of women and kids.
Linda Delaney was the GAL for a young Egyptian girl whose mother had fled with her to the US to escape her coercively controlling husband. Instead of helping the girl start a new life with her mother in the US, Delaney had her repatriated back to Egypt to a patriarchical society where women have less rights and freedom. How is that is the child's best interest? The now grown child tweeted: "To my mother, who cried a thousand rivers for me." How sad this child was separated from her mother and a mother who fled abuse lost her daughter. Delaney is now the President of the Maryland AFCC, a organization that exercises undue influence over our courts and educates judges and attorneys that children are not to be believed about abuse and that pushes parental alienation, a DARVO tactic created as a legal defense for child sex abusers. PA is not recognized by the APA and I don't know why the courts allow it, except that they have been misled about what it really is. Currently, the AFCC is "training" judges and custody evaluators in a seminar titled "Unbelievable Stories: Children's Experience of Coercive Control", the inference being children tell stories and are not to be believed. What's unbelievable is how blatant the AFCC is in equivocating about abuse.
Lyn saved the day in a terrible domestic violence situation. She is the best.
An extraordinary law firm that will find the right things to do -- even in the hardest circumstances.
