Derek A. Farmer, Attorney At Law

This attorney is excellent and has and will put the work in which is why he gets referrals. I've worked for him and know who Gretchen Groves is and if the review on here is her actual review, she has lied. She did not pay $25,000 to Mr. Farmer nor did the client. They asked him to take a couple old vehicles as they had no money. He did not tell anyone that he slept with anyone which is ridiculous. Ms. Groves is an old woman. The client had 4 cases, not 1. There were multiple felony charges in each case involving massive amounts of drugs and all types of crimes and he was on surveillance committing armed robbery. The client took a plea and put in writing he was never promised anything. It is ludicrous to even suggest he was offered 8 years for all that with his criminal history! Suppression issues were preserved for appeal. After other appointed counsel lost the appeal he took the Ohio Supreme Court case for free because Ms. Groves begged him to and he felt sorry for her. No good deed goes unpunished! The accusation he bribed someone.. who the judge? to get the client more time...(the judge is the only one with that power) is..... beyond words! Whoever wrote that review is sick.

Do not hire this so called attorney. I would have not even rated him but had to so I could write this review. He's a liar and a manipulator. We paid this man $25,000 for him to do nothing for my husband. My husband was offered 8 years and Derek said don't take the deal bc he could get him less time. Well, after sitting in jail for 2 years and wanting to go to trial Derek got him a deal of 15 years. More time then what he was originally offered. The man would dose off in court and was never prepared. My husband was more prepared then Derek and had to tell him what to do. I paid another $1000 for Derek to hire a private investigator and I'm the one that did his job. This man is a fraud and should have his license stripped from him. Then he tells people that are in prison with my husband that he slept with me. What a professional!? He's a sick, nasty, lying POS. I'm not writing this bc my husband went to prison. We all knew he would do time but it's bc this man charged us $25,000 and my husband and I did most of the work. He even told my husband he could walk out of court and not do any time. You do not promise clients hat knowing that could never happen. So, please do not hire him bc he will take all your money and do nothing for you. After all this I found out he has done this to other people and I heard he took a bribe from someone that does not like my husband so he would get more time. He makes promises he can't keep and over charges clients. All he cares about his filling his pockets with money from desperate people that put their trust in him.

I met Derek when he visited a client at RCI, I worked their and he was very polite and referred me to Mrs. Finucane who did an excellent job. I was very pleased with there service.

If my reference was right he may be better. I will let all know after my matter is helped.
