I was referred to Mr. Padgett for a custody case for my daughter. I was nervous at first switching lawyers since having the same one for almost four years. Mr. Padgett and his staff were amazing to work with. Always returned calls and emails on a timely manner. Not only did Mr. Padgett take on a complex case, but he also always assured me things would work out. If you want someone that you know will be there for you and there for you after hours, Mr. Padgett is the one you need. Most lawyers don't respond much less on the same day, so responding after hours speaks highly of Mr. Padgett and how he cares about his clients. I highly recommend Padgett Law and will continue to use if needed in the future.

He is very rude. Doesn't meet with his clients. Doesn't keep track of what is going on with their clients case. Never makes himself available or calls back. His secretary can't keep up with the clients. Whether they're out on the streets or actually locked up awaiting trial. Wouldn't set up a bond hearing. Doesn't even try to do what he says he is going to do. Overall he doesn't care about what happens with his clients.

After an initial consultation in February 2021, I spent several months saving the funds needed to be able to hire Mr. Padgett. I contacted the office again via the website to determine next steps and wasn’t contacted back. I ended up filing my divorce through the court with papers I found online, but continued to save money so I could hire him to help with the division of assets and other lingering issues. So I called again to set up a meeting to figure out next steps, and got it scheduled (admin was pretty cold and unfriendly at this point already). The day before my meeting, the admin calls and says they “discussed it” and can’t take my case because I hired another attorney to do my divorce decree (which I did not do). She was rude for the duration of the conversation. She repeated that they already discussed it and can’t take the case because of using someone else to do the decree, and I repeated that I never hired another attorney and I would appreciate her letting Mr. Padgett know that since he was making a decision based off the wrong information. Then she told me “he is not in the business of giving free advice,” which I never asked for. I knew I’d already had my free consultation. What I did NOT know were next steps and pricing, HENCE the request for the meeting. Between her rudeness and their unwillingness to gather the facts prior to making decisions based on the wrong information, I’d say I dodged a bullet. What kind of lawyer doesn’t get the facts before jumping to conclusions?
