Great steakhouse in downtown. Best steakhouse I've had in San Diego, bit pricey but all good steakhouse are. Nice decor and friendly staff.

Absolutely the best steak house in San Diego. Had reviewed awhile ago. Don't know how it disappeared. Anyway, love this place,! The staff so professionally, the cocktails, drinks and dinners are amazing. Donovan's do it right. See you soon. Best steak house!

Spent our 25th wedding anniversary in San Diego and wanted the perfect, romantic dinner. Donovan's did not disappoint in any of the aspects. Places rose petals on our table, just the right amount of attention from our waiter and a complimentary desert. I had the filet with bacon wrapped scallops which was cooked to perfection. Would recommend this place to all! Thanks Moises for a wonderful evening.

My review is well overdue. My first time to San Diego and we had a reservation at a steakhouse but after taking a Lyft and the driver I had use to travel and work as a chef, they recommended Donovan's. I set up a reservation right away. They offer valet parking, the vibe was incredible, and our service and food were phenomenal. They provided us with wine recommendations to start off. For food, we started with the Seafood Platter - which was designed with a smiley face and delicious. Then we both got the Ribeye Chop, first time having a Ribeye Chop - but have had a ribeye hundreds of times of course. The Ribeye Chop was the best steak and ribeye we have ever had in our lives. Sal was the chef, and the food he made was incredible. We also ended dinner with Tiramisu and Creme Burlee (not sure how but we ate it). The best thing outside of the food, was our server Charles. If I could give him a thousand stars, I would. Charles was outgoing, funny, and incredibly easy to get along with. Everything we ordered was based on his recommendations. I've traveled all over the world and been to many different restaurants but I would say Charles, Sal, and Donavan's was my favorite place thus far. If you want to go to a place with fantastic food, great people, and amazing vibes, this is the place to go.

Fabulous establishment, we had a very nice dinner here a couple weeks ago. Food and drink was wonderful, staff were all top notch. Thank you in particular to Daniel, the manager who helped organize the return of my husband’s favorite jacket!! We really appreciated that gesture, talk about going above and beyond. We look forward to coming back here soon!
