Such a great experience with this firm. Hard working for us. Working with us to accommodate our needs. During this time when things are more difficult with the pandemic, they continued to do what was needed to get our needs done. I would and do recommend Eastman & Smith Ltd! Godspeed!
Attorney Michael W. Regnier is very skilled, prompt and extremely helpful. He goes beyond his duties to ensure client satisfaction and goals are met. Came highly recommended to me and he exceeded my expectations.
Will..living will...estate planning Thank you so much Chad Huber
Horrible experience - my attorney from ES, I chose because she was not involved in nest of lawyers in my town, she knew that this, along with the experience she claimed to have - was the reason that I hired her. She authored this detailed contract of what they would complete, demanded a large amount up front, the completed NONE of the work that was required or requested of them, except reviewing doc's submitted to court (which I could have done on my own) and she brought in this Partner who hob-nobs and is enmeshed with collegues in my home town. First law he put on me was to NOT REPORT WRONGDOINGS OF FORMER LAWYER TO BAR - so Boss was covering up for associate in MI and refused/failed to explain why I shouldn't file a report of Bar of Michigan over misbillings and legal problems w/ previous lawyer which are serious and real problems. Then, once COVID popped up, they totally, COMPLETELY dropped all communication and stopped working on EVERYTHING. I requested, formally, that they immediately transfer my case to the Michigan office, and, right away, the threw legal counsel at me as I tried to simply work with the firm to get contracted work completed. Legal counsel claimed that NOBODY WORKS IN DETROIT OFFICE on telephone - that there are ONLY EMPLOYEES IN TOLEDO OFFICE. Stay away from Wildman and Boss. Any problems, contact the legal person, at least he's more direct, yes, covers their a**, but you know exactly where you stand and can move forward w/ report to Bar Association. Also, if you are disabled in an way, shape or form - even a simple thing like anxiety and agoraphobia, mobility issues, they use this again clients, take the money, and run. I would stay away from this firm - run, if you can, since they lack integrity and are simply out to make a fast, fat buck. I ended up finding out that Wildman had no training and that she took my $5000 and had to be CONTINUALLY OVERSEEN by the partner, BOSS, from my small town. She claimed to have lots of experience in the issues that I was dealing with - then had NONE. That accounting that they stated that they needed to complete - well, they never even looked at original documents and they were totally aware of dealing with a company that cleans out trust funds by over, mis, double and triple billing techniques - and I could have had a forensic accountant do the same thing for so much less and it would have been an actual COMPLETE FORENSIC ACCOUNTING - I didn't hire them to do this, Wildman claimed that it needed to be completed and I wanted to hire an experienced forensic accountant so that a professional with experience was reviewing monetary records - but she insisted on completing it herself, claiming she was very experienced in this. With an estate that started w/ 1.3m dollars, what sort of fees could be generated to deplete it to just over $220,000 in under 3 years - particularly when the work clearing up estate wasn't completed? But, Boss and Wildman completely rubber stamped the work and refused to file everything else listed in our contract. They are banking on the fact that I'll be questioned because I have anxiety and mobility issues - they've banked wrong, I'm afraid. Abusing a person, taking advantage of a person, because they are betting on your inability to follow through on going after them to complete work - that is dirty play. RUN FAST FROM ES!
Our company hired Eastman and Smith as corporate counsel last year to replace our prior corporate counsel who retired. There was a falling out among the shareholders, who negotiated a buyout agreement among themselves and then turned to Eastman and Smith to formalize the agreement. Instead of proceeding to bring about the amicable buyout to fruition, their aggressive tactics alienated some of the shareholders which led to the filing of suit and all shareholders had to retain separate Counsel to represent themselves. Progress was made only after the majority shareholders removed Eastman and Smith from the process so that the Shareholders' personal Counsel could negotiate a fair and equitable buyout arrangement resolving the differences among the parties to everyone's satisfaction. Notwithstanding the fact that no discovery or depositions were ever taken, Eastman and Smith submitted invoices to our firm exceeding $60,000.00 for their efforts between the end of August 2018, and the end of January 2019. Even though they have already been paid $60,000.00, they are now demanding payment of an additional $40,000.00. In my opinion, I would WATCH OUT when dealing with this firm.
