Edwin C. Levy has some management and HQ problems. I'm 44 yrs old. I've worked as a foreman in management. Operating for over 20 yrs. This company terminated me with ZERO write ups over some excused days off I had taken right before my vacation time. Which is nonsense since the plant I worked at wasn't even up and running. We literally had 80 guys standing around day after day. Well, training is what they called it. I'm more experienced than 90% of the people they had or will have. In fact this company is best suited for a 28 year old who thinks they know everything, a terrible attitude and bad apple personality with no operating abilities. They have many of these running around with several write ups. If this is your 1st or 2nd job you'll fit in. But if your an experienced operator with an actual resume you'll be babysitting full-time. It's pretty much a babysitting role for anyone with experience and know how. In addition the company breaks their own policies. I was terminated for a few days they claimed. But like a solid man I took responsibility even though there was no logic or reasoning behind the company doing this. In the policy book it says you can be rehired after 6 months. This is what I was told by management. Since I relocated to work for them I kept my lease. Then after 6 months they said no, now we changed it to a YEAR!!! Unprofessional and dirty to do good employees this way. Absolutely ridiculous with little to no logic behind these decisions. I wasn't fired for violence, guns, drugs, or sexual harassment. I had ZERO write ups unlike several of the bad apples they hired. With zero write ups and missing a couple days right at holiday time a plant that wasn't even up and running terminated me saying theyd hire me back in 6 months, then they lied and said I have to wait a year!!! I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone with experience or a solid resume, go somewhere else, anywhere else! Your wasting your time with Edwin C. Levy! This company has some very bad employees. Rude, poor attitudes, and it's everyday! Middle school mentality would describe them pretty accurately. Don't waste your time if you have a family or need to relocate. They are a yes sir company. They'll tell you stuff you want to hear to your face, and then nothing happens. It's a bad job! Not for real equipment operators. The over all attitude is poor. There is ZERO teamwork due to poor leadership. Again, I emphasize just how bad the work environment is at this place. I'm a Christian man, so I would not lie. They are dishonest professionally and have very little logic behind the choices they make. I wasn't the only one. I've seen mechanics and other operators being lied to and mistreated. My only regret is not moving right away. It's clear they dont value high skill leveled employees. Ive been a foreman with management experience. Trust me when I say pass on this company for employment.
I worked for Edward C. Levy for over 10 years until corp. In house take over, when they fired any employee coming up on their fully vested for pension date. I was told by corporate that they had never had so many calls from Nucor about one employee in the history of this company. They then shook my hand and said that every one of the calls was in high praise of my abilities and service. Was kinda nice to hear, but still got "laid off", because I was 6 months from full retirement qualifications. Loved the job,not the ending of it.
The workers there are awesome!! Plant 2 is the best, in and out with a drive safe and have a great day from the loaders. Jeff's spot on...
