Hired Element for a divorce. I had a similar experience as other reviews I see here. I started off in good hands with Katie, yet was unfortunately passed off to other lawyers. I frequently had to provide information and documentation again that I had previously provided, costing twice the time for us and therefore twice the charge for me. This became a constant throughout my case. I ended up doing legwork myself for steps they drug out, or constantly editing documents where invalid information was listed, again costing us twice the time and me twice the money. When my case ended up in court, it would have been dismissed if not for the pity of the Judge because my lawyer did not have all the documents needed to proceed. The Judge wanted to at least grant me coverage of Elements fees, yet she could not find that detail in my documents either, despite it being agreed upon at the start of my case. So the Judge legally could not grant me ANYTHING due to the neglegence of the lawyer. Elements answer to this HUGE loss for me was to discount ONE DAY’s work by 50%. They also said I could appeal the Judges decision on my own dime even though their mistakes caused the loss. This felt like a slap in the face and I was stunned by how I ended up being mistreated. I then reached out to another law firm to make sure I was not being unreasonable because of my lack of knowledge on the legal system, and they confirmed I had standing on my feelings of being improperly represented. I emailed Katie directly to inform her of how my case was handled and express my frustrations. After not hearing back for a month, I included the office staff. I’ve never had a response from sharing my experience in order make things right. When realizing this mishandling of my case is still heavily negatively affecting me over a year later, I’ve decided to share with others who may need this foresight.

I got the run around from lawyers there for almost a year and ended up having to do leg work myself to get my parenting plan finalized. I kept getting handed off to new lawyers who would then start all over and charge me for all the times they had the same conversation with me, but with different lawyers. I do not recommend them to anyone for anything.

I have worked with Katie since before she started her own firm. We have been through alot in my 2 years divorce proceedings. She was able to fight and get me visitation when my ex wouldn't allow anything. Even after starting Element, I had to unfortunately revisit her with new issues and everything was solved as quickly as she could. The other attorney's there are super friendly and very hard working as well. Thank you guys for all you have done for me and Emma!
