John Tatlock is a shareholder at Epstein Patierno and he is the worst family lawyer, you should not hire him for your case. No father or mother who cares about their children should put their divorce in the hands of Tatlock. I hired Tatlock in 2014 to handle a complicated divorce involving a substance-abusing spouse and a complicated parenting involving custody out-of-state. The hearing took several months to prepare, and Tatlock added little value while charging exorbitant rates; ultimately and failed to coordinate the experts on time for the hearing. In response, Tatlock filed a suprise withdrawal one week before court throwing an already problematic situation into total disarray. This caused many months of delay and required hiring a new law firm to start anew. Ultimately, my new lawyers were able to handle the custody issues and help my children move out of state, but Tatlock's lawyering made our situation far more expensive and painful than required Under no circumstances should any parent use the services of John Tatlock for their family law matter. I am a licensed attorney myself and former law professor, and I am ashamed that Tatlock is a member of our profession. You would do far better handling the matter yourself than hiring Tatlock as your lawyer. Stay away.

I hired Mr. Epstein to handle a child custody dispute. He said he knew the judge and could speak with him to my benefit. Mr. Epstein was dismissed by the judge on the two issues he brought forward. With that in mind I asked Mr. Epstein to negotiate with the other party and NOT prepare for court in the matter. Things went slowly and I ended up negotiating with the other party myself and working the issue out. Mr. Epstein handled the paperwork. Afterword, I received a bill for over $25,000 for preparing for court-something that I asked him not to do. Shocked and dismayed -I refused to pay. Somehow, without legal notice, Mr. Epstein when to court and got a default judgement against me! Neither myself or my current lawyer had been notified of any court proceedings. So, in summery, Mr. Epstein is a great attorney. He knows how to get paid!
