Scam Letter from a Third Party: I recieved a letter with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ on the top left hand side. The signature on the letter is so fake and not even original. Underneath her name, is First Recovery Group. The letter did not even the correct date of my injury. They wanted my to go online to fill out a form to get details about the injury. Red flags everywhere. I am sending this scam letter to BC/BS so no one else gets conned.
Well I believe this is some kinda of phishing scam or insurance fraud on account that I received a letter to provide them additional info so that they may seek reimbursement from the responsible party regarding an accident that I had recently been in. The problem is they got the date of treatment wrong as well as the wrong hospital listed with absolutely no specific details of the billing invoice or treatment performed, or account number. And to top it off they listed a hospital that’s located on the opposite end of California down in Los Angeles where I reside , but no where near the location of my accident which was in Salinas.
Great csr.. just call them, no doubt its IN YOUR FAVOR.. NOT AGAINST YOU.. READ YOUR LETTER AND ANSWER QUESTIONS .. PUT IT IN THE MAIL.. NO MATTER HOW MANY LETTERS YOU GET ??????? ITS SIMPLER TO CALL THEM.. ITS ALL GOOD THEYRE HELPING YOU SO YOU DONT HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET ( IN THE EVENT THAT ITS ABOUT INSURANCE CLAIM AS MINE WAS) AND THEY DO ANSWER!
Call your insurance company directly before replying to anything from this company. I received a letter from them asking about the details of a medical service I had a few months ago, it had my health insurance company's logo, non discrimination disclosure and all. Called my insurance company because it seemed fishy, the representative reviewed my claims and my account and assured me that there were no notes about working with a third party or any correspondence sent to me on any of my claims or my account and I could disregard this inquiry.
I got a letter from them too, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong… From everything I could find, this is a tiny, shady, middle man who profits from creating ambulance chasing opportunities for hungry attorneys, and for my health insurance company (who gets a cut for giving out my son’s personal information). My son just died. Using my insurer’s logo and phrases like, my insurer “needs my help with claims,” and they “need information,” and that this was my “FIRST NOTICE,” is so, so wrong. It makes me sick to think that any insurer would call in sharks to go after the amazing doctors and nurses that worked heroically to try and save my son’s life. I truly enjoyed tossing their correspondence where it belongs.
