Peiwen helped my parents to get their green card and the whole process was smooth. I will recommend her to my friends!
I wish I could give negative ratings. nnPeiwen is the kind of attorney that you would like to avoid to work with no matter what legal services you need. She is dishonest and lack basic professionalism.nnPeiwen was responsible of filing my H1B visa application this year. She had made significant mistake in the initial filing which caused the USCIS to request additional evidence(RFE) on my case. She put a wrong job category and code on my LCA form, despite my specific request. nnAfter I received the RFE, she showed no regret or apology on the mistake. Instead, she asked for more attorney fee for responding to the RFE. I want to give her a second chance so I ask my employer to continue pay the attorney fee. This could be the worst decision that I've made in my life. Peiwen is generally easy to work with before you pay your attorney fee. After that, guess what, you can hardly reach her once a month. She hired a guy to answer the phone for her. After her refusal to reply the email, I called her office number almost everyday, the guy always told me that she was not at her office and he didn't know when she would be there. I feel like Peiwen is not living in the same dimension or time zone as we do. She could be absent from her office during business hour for a whole month. nnDuring the whole preparation for the response, she only provided a simple cover letter and I have to request tons of modification on that letter. I had to gather and prepare most of the supporting evidence on my own. I had to do legal research myself and provide guidance to her on how to prepare the response properly. Not surprisingly, my case got denied in the end. But I'm not the worst case on her hand. My coworker hired her to file the green card application at the same time this year. The USCIS requested audit on her case and Peiwen simply disappeared for a couple months and missed the deadline to response, which caused my coworker wasted half a year in her green card application process and have to start from the beginning again. Although Peiwen returned the attorney fee later, the damage was already done. nnAfter I got my deny notice, I still have the option to file motion to reopen the case to challenge their decision. Peiwen again asked for more attorney fee to file the motion. Well, there is no third chance for you. I hope every one in need of legal services, especially H1B and EB2 green card applications could avoid this law office and Peiwen Liu. nnShame on you Peiwen.
Peiwen Liu is a terrible lawyer to work with. She's neither trustworthy nor responsible.nnTo begin with, Peiwen is only registered as NY state attorney, so in California she can only practice immigration law. It has a potential problem - you need to file 2 separate copies to CA bar association and NY bar association if a dispute or complaint occur.nnI work at Hilton LA/Universal City. I employed Peiwen to refile my H-1B petition on 5/17/12, after my first petition was denied. I chose her because at that time she was working on my co-worker's petition. She already had the company info and all my previous petition package in file, which make the filing very easy. I paid $1500 attorney fee, $300 more than she usually charges, because my case is time sensitive -- my OPT expires on 6/15/12 and the petition needs to be filed before the H-IB quota exhausts. To make a long story short, Peiwen failed to submit my petition on time due to her delay and irresponsibility, which forced me to stop working on 6/15/12 and leave the country in 60 days. This unexpected result causes big loss to me as well as my company.nnDuring the filing process, Peiwen Liu has the following MALPRACTICE:nn1. She doesn't have a full knowledge of immigration law and gave me wrong information regarding labor certificate, which result in one week delay of receiving the LCA;nn2. She contacted an evaluation company and charged me an extra $500 for an expert opinion letter as a support material. When I asked to review the letter, she said I need to pay $500 first so the expert will start working on the letter. Since my case is time sensitive, I paid for next-day processing. But no one sent me the letter on due date. I emailed the company at that night, two days later the company replied with the letter. Wrong job title and company info are used throughout the letter. Peiwen didn't provide the correct info and she refused to correspond after I paid the money. The whole process is like a FRAUD.nn3. She makes many mistakes on my petition. on I-129, she checked the wrong gender, wrote the wrong visa expiration date; on the support letter, she wrote the wrong job titles and wrong company info. These stupid mistakes demonstrate her terrible attitude at work.nn4. She's very hard to reach after you signed the contract and paid the money. My co-worker has the same complaint. No matter how worried you are and how many emails and phone calls you made, she seldom replies and doesn't care at all. nnFor my case, the last email she sent saying the H-1B quota was full this year and I need to stop working. After that she didn't answer my calls nor emails. She didn't show any apologies for her failure to handle my case. I'm still waiting for her to return the $2325 government fee. She should also refund part of the attorney fee since she failed to submit my petition. But like I said, she refused to respond. It's like a FRAUD. Again.nnThere are many independent lawyers in Los Angeles, CA. What I learned from this experience is that not every lawyer is qualified to practice law. When looking for a lawyer, make sure you check their background --education, bar license, and online reviews. Try to avoid irresponsible and unqualified lawyers, like Peiwen Liu -- they only want the money and is not helpful at all.
