Great exam, great staff, great doctor. Having recently moved to Sarasota, I feel extremely lucky to have found Dr. Soto. Explains the entire exam to you. Thanks. G

Dr. Soto and his team are great! They got me in last minute and took great care of me. I paid cash and their charge was very fair and affordable. I will be going back for all of my eye care needs.

Dr. Soto is a great optometrist, performs an excellent examination, answers questions clearly. BUT, his staff leaves much to be desired. If your glasses are not correct, you are blamed for the problem. They never admit fault. Being on limited fixed income, I cannot pay for more frames when they do something wrong, like cut the stems. I did not ask for them to be cut. I didn't even know it was possible. It was their decision, on their own volition to do so. Had the stems not been cut, I would have been able to exchange them for other frames for a new prescription. Now I have to manage with my old glasses. Yes, new prescription can be put in these poorly fitting frames, but I really don't want to go weekly to have them adjusted because now they are not right. I called several times for a manager, and was put thru to the optical department. They are impossible to deal with. I would go to Dr. Soto in a heartbeat, but I'd get the prescription and go elsewhere for glasses. After posting this, I checked the receipt. I trusted them, did not check before signing. now I see that they charged me $50 for the lenses, which they promised they would not do. I'm out nearly $400, that's FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS. FOR NOTHING. BAD LENSES. BAD FRAMES. I am so upset. DO NOT TRUST THEM. Their response is not totally correct. Two issues: True, I did not like the sunglass frames, and (2) the lenses were not cut correctly to fit the slightly larger frames. I took that opportunity to BUY and PAY for new frames. Still not correct. The prescription was okay.

In response to the comment below: There was no reason for Dr. Soto NOT to determine that I had a retinal detachment. I voiced all my concerns, told him that theres no way it could have been my contacts because I had been wearing this new prescription for weeks, I told him I was seeing flashing lights and blurred lines in one eye only. Any competent doctor, would run the proper tests and figure out the root cause of my symptoms. It should not have even come to the point of him having to call me after I had left the office. If he had he called me a few hours too late, I would have lost my vision. So what if this occurred in 2014? It happened and I wish I would've written this review sooner. He misdiagnosed me after I came to him complaining that I had blurred vision, out of no where. He said it was most likely my contacts since I had a new prescription, and that was it. Turns out I had a RETINAL DETACHMENT, and if i had not consulted with my friend who is a doctor, I would probably be blind today. She urged I go to the ER that day and I was scheduled for emergency surgery the next day. Not to mention he is rude and cold. He says the same rehearsed things every visit. Not a very welcoming environment. Would not recommend him at all and would give 0 stars if I could.

I have been coming to this office since I was a little girl and the quality has never wavered. They have a great office with a fantastic staff. No one knows glasses like Sandy.
