Over the course the past 6+ years of my divorce and proceedings afterwards, Ms. Thomas has gone from my attorney to friend to part of the family. I had always respected her no nonsense approach to my very difficult case throughout the years. She always took the time to explain the proceedings and what she needed to help me. Ms. Thomas should have never took my case. She knew she was retiring and just wanted me off her plate. She told me I should only go for 35% shared parenting because that would be all I could get during our mediation. Now a year later after she dropped me as a client I am back fighting and a judge is letting my son move to Virginia where he has no family and the mother has no friends. So now I have to fight more to just get equal rights when that is what a good lawyer would have advised in the beginning. If I would have fought for 50/50 my son would be staying in his home state. I would respect someone that was just honest from the jump, but we are talking about a career lawyer. #shameful the way they can ruin peoples lives when the kids are the ones who suffer.
