Do NOT use this company if you don’t have to! If you have other options that service your area I promise you are better off using them! We used to have PIG (which was AMAZING!!) but then it transferred to GFL.. and ever since the new ownership, we have had nothing but rude and unprofessional service! It’s always a betting game each week to see if they will come pick up the trash. If they decide to not come out, they don’t even send out a notification or anything. You’re just left with 2(+) weeks of trash ???? I also had an abundance of cardboard due to a new dining table and 6 chairs being delivered, they did not pick up our extra cardboard that couldn’t fit in the bin. So I called notifying them of this issue, and the lady who answered said she will make a note in the system to pick up the extra cardboard at no additional cost the next week. Guess what? You bet. They didn’t pick up the extra cardboard that couldn’t fit. So that’s going on week #3 of it sitting at our driveway. I also called to ask why our bill went up $10 out of nowhere (thinking they did in fact charge for us an additional fee for the extra cardboard) It is a fuel surcharge for their trucks. So before I could respond, the lady (I can’t remember names) said “well if you didn’t notice the gas prices are crazy high” (you didn’t have to tell me twice about that..) and she said it all in a rude and snobby tone. I felt very disrespected as a paying customer. I tried calling to let them know of the extra cardboard not being removed and no one answered for 10 minutes. I then got disconnected so I tried calling back and got an automated message that they are closed and office hours are 8am-5pm. (It was 4:20pm when I first called and then 4:30pm when I called back after being disconnected) It’s safe to say I would much rather go and drop off my trash and recycling at the center here in town. I’d love to give them my service than this company. And to also save a pretty penny since I can’t even get GFL to be my reliable trash service. I try my best to be positive and give the benefit of doubt, but after multiple instances & issues I will be cutting ties with them on their next business day.

$8.10 fuel surcharge and now “due to increased costs, your next invoice may reflect a price increase” Went from $54.00/mo to $62.10/mo (14% increase) and now….? I can see increases to align worker pay with the company model. I hope that’s the case. But I suspect when this is said and done that the total % increase will be closer to 25%+ Maybe this is to cover all the environmental fees for Canada to send all their trash to Detroit (where GFL is based). Monopoly is a fun game (GFL is only provider that services my area).

I never had a problem with the company while it was P.I.G. However after GFL purchased it there service is horrible.

Gfl is so far a good company with on time service.

Dave and Maralee are awesome! We had contacted to see if we could tour for my son ( he loves garbage trucks, cans, etc). They were awesome and gave us a great tour and experience!
