I began searching for a law firm to put together my last will, and testament in a more updated format in July because my life circumstances had changed significantly since the first will was written many years ago. I specifically searched in the saratoga/Albany /Troy /Schenectady area of New York State . After many frustrating, phone calls and conversations with what appeared to be with male, dominated medium and large size firms, (that were presenting themselves in my opinion to be impersonal and more interested in the financial end of me process), I decided to limit my search to only female law firms ……….. and quickly found on line Megan Harris -Pero in Saratoga springs , New York. My first conversation in October with RUTA who I thought was the office manager was not only personable, but she was able to answer all my questions and concerns , which gave me confidence that this law firm would be just the group of people I was looking for to put my affairs in order. From that point on as I set up, my first appointment, had my first conversation with Megan Harris -Pero, And later with Amelia Scaglione, It was very clear to me that this was not only the correct choice, but also a team that worked well together. So we moved forward to put the complicated situation of My living will in order. I needed to have the process completed by February and we successfully met that deadline with every detail in place. Each person was very clear about what information I needed to have on hand so that the team could do their best work . They proposed many questions for me to think about so that we could chart the best course of action. All of that hard work and preparation was accomplished in three sessions, and every email written, was answered, not only in a timely fashion, but most cases on the same day. I felt their price was fair and when we needed to amend some small details before the signing, I felt the extra expense was in line, reasonable and well documented in the agreement consent form. When we got together for the signing, my disability was not only taken into consideration, but treated with respect and dignity by everyone ……. Which meant a lot to me and put me at ease. I admire the Megan Harris-Pero law firm for their dedication treating everyone with respect and dignity , always putting their best knowledge /expertise into action at all times even if it means extra research on their part is necessary. I can not say enough about Megan and Emily. I called them on a Monday wanting to put a house in a trust before I close on it for the Friday if the same week. They had a Trust, Will, Health Care proxy and POA for both my husband and I by Thursday of the same week. Just in time for my closing. They were both available by email throughout the entire week and responded so quickly. They are miracle workers! They were both very kind, patient and efficient!
