Call today to learn more about my fee structure.
I spoke with Robert today. He is the attorney who is representing my case! He explained everything to me and made sure i understood the processes ! He went over med bills , fees and my offer. He was a very pleasant person to speak with. He didn’t pressure me into anything I feel very confident knowing he is representing me!
My attorney Christopher barely contacted me. Went on two different two weeks vacations during key points of my settlement. Did not fight for my settlement and just worried about the money. Didn’t even inform me on my settlement getting there. He never answered any emails, texts, or calls. I had to reach out to his assistant most of the time to get in contact with him. Instead of empathizing my situation he just wanted his money. I believe he received equal amount of money in the settlement as me and I have to live with my injuries for the rest of my life meanwhile he just collected another case. He was telling my mother while I was in the hospital unable to speak how hard he was going to try and make sure I will get justice from hitting hit head on my a drunk driver but all he did was barely contact me and collect another settlement check.
DO NOT HIRE! Steer clear and negotiate with you insurance company directly if you have a small claim. If you have a larger PI claim, do not hire this group. My partner and I were rear ended summer of 2023. We had some injuries and the law firm handed us to 4 different people in the group to handle our case within the first 48 hours. There was major miscommunication and constantly repeating our selves while sending the same documents over and again. First red flag. Straightened out the situation with Lorena. The firm had us go to "their" pain specialist and physical therapy doctors. The physical therapy location was absolutely disgusting and I demanded to change where we would receive our services. We were ignored and had to threaten that we would stop treatment if we did not speak to the attorney directly. Second red flag. It was worked out. Finally, our treatment concluded and we are working with Lorena. I have contacted her multiple times and left multiple VM without returning my calls. When I have spoken with her, she has stated that she is still in process of gathering our medical documents from ALL locations we received treatment. My first contact with her was in January and it is now the end of March and she is still attempting to gather all medical records. I asked her if the requests were already made and she was unable to provide if that has occurred or not. She said she would review our case and provide me with a list of locations with outstanding medical records so I could help assist. No update was given and now I am writing this review. Third and final red flag. All other 5 star reviews are fake. Again, steer clear of this firm and will never use them again for any future PI injuries.
After 2 years I'm still resolving a case that was initially a year case to conclude. This office shuffles cases around like a deck of cards. I had to guide Robert Bieniek through the proper process on how to ensure all of my medical bills from my accident were taken care of and reported to the at fault party. Which he did not report all of my medical bills from that accident and expected me to settle leaving me responsible for a larger amount owed from the settlement minimizing my settlement amount. Robert Bieniek knew he wasn't right so he offered to lower Walner Law 33% portion (which I still expect once we settle by the way, since I had to take hand in my case). Robert Bieniek wanted me to settle with medical bills still being responsibly to myself. I had to inform my personal health insurance of my date of service bills (from car accident) oppose to Robert, my personal health insurn. and myself, working in unison to cover all medical bills through my personal health insurance. This will lower the amount asked from care providers because they're billing an institution (personal health insurance) and not the individual (myself). Then Walner Law or myself suppose to reimburse my personal health insurance the money they paid on my behalf from the overall settlement granted from the at fault party. If not, I'm at risk of being sued by my personal health insurance from receiving a settlement from a car accident and not paying back my personal insurance what they paid out on my behalf. Or receive a very much smaller settlement by not charging my personal health insurance and paying outright. Which is crazy given that's why we pay for insurance lol. Lastly, getting updates on my case was unheard of from this law office. I hadn't heard from them in months until I remembered I had a case and needed to know what was going on with the case and concluding. Robert Bieniek is never available and you leave a voicemail--for another random person to call back. You have to request to hear from him directly when leaving a message.
I was called by Walner at 11.30pm (yes, nearly midnight) on a Wednesday, the same day as my car accident. Their representative was soliciting employment of legal services over the phone which is illegal in the state of Illinois. They scraped my accident and claim information from a city of Chicago database and when they called, implicitly masqueraded as my insurance company until they could not in an effort to socially engineer information from me. Admittedly, being so late in the evening and having a rather rough day, as you can imagine, I gave up personal details. They then almost commanded me to sign a retainer. Fortunately, I'm not a total idiot and declined to continue the conversation. For a law firm to violate so many ethics guidelines and laws in the span of a 4 minute and 23 second call, that is particularly concerning and I personally could not recommend an organization that blatantly treats its prospective clients with contempt. If I could give less than one star, I would. If Walner contacts you out of the blue with such disregard for your time and nearly no respect for your person, I might suggest forwarding a complaint to the both the illinois state bar association and the state's attorney.
