These jerks called my boyfriend's parents house trying to track him down, and when he called back, they were abusive and threatening. "Chuck" told my boyfriend that he was "going to call all of his relatives and ask them to help him pay his debt." He also asked him if he wanted to "keep this out of court" and then changed the subject when my boyfriend asked if Chuck was going to sue him. nnAccording to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Haster Law is in VIOLATION of section 806...Harassment and Abusive collection practices as well as several other FDCPA sections. nnThe debt collector is not allowed to communicate with anyone other than the debtor except to "locate" the debtor, then they are not allowed to contact anyone once they're lcoated. It is also a violation to threaten if no suit is intended. Perhaps they should go back and train their employees on the FDCPA. Or, perhaps we should file a complaint with the FTC and have them fined for EACH of the occurrences...nnDo not do business with these creeps.
