I deeply regret having to write this review, unfortunately, my encounter with this firm has been nothing short of financially draining. I hired Hecht Family Law for a simple contempt of court case involving my ex-spouse, who owed over $5,000 in child care expenses. I spent well over 13 hours compiling an impeccable case, records, emails, sorting, categorizing and naming all critical documents and records to save me money on billable hours and to expediate a speedy resolution given my impeccable record keeping. I still paid a hefty $4,000 in legal fees in which the only action that was achieved on this case was the hiring a process server who NEVER served the respondent. In addition, no court date was ever set. The respondent was never contacted, and there has been no resolution in this matter. The firm’s decision to use a private server, who conveniently ignored my calls for status updates, is concerning as it only dragged out the case. As a result, a little girl loses and my savings is depleted. Their fees are not justifiable as I was still billed for INTERNAL partner discussions and emails to follow up if a hearing date could be set. To spend my entire savings on a case that resulted in no litigation and did not even reach the court for a hearing date nor even the respondent being served is extremely disappointing. I only hired this law firm as my prior attorney was deeply engaged in another case. If you’re seeking legal representation, I encourage you to explore other options. As for me, I’m determined to receive the balance of my retainer so that I can support my little girl who needs this money for the upcoming school year.
