I was referred to Jim by a lawyer friend in my hometown of Farmington Hills. He had such high praise for Jim that I felt very comfortable in calling him to discuss my situation. I was referred by a friend to John and Jim. Although, my issue was not directly in their wheelhouse they promptly went above and beyond to assist me. Received a show Cause Order from Oakland County Courthouse and was extremely unfamiliar with what a “Show Cause Order” meant. Was told to contact an attorney after speaking to several friends in the Judicial Profession. Was referred over to an attorney in Troy and in brief conversation over the “Order” the attorney wanted $2500-$3000 as a retainer. Was extremely disappointed and taken back by the attorney’s attitude and unprofessionalism when questioned why it would be so much. Quickly let this attorney go and then was referred over to Jim Wald & Associates. Spoke to Atty. Wald and briefly explained my situation (as I did with the previous attorney). Mr. Wald walked me thru the entire process without once first asking for any upfront monies. He then referred one of his associates (John Hughes) over to me and they contacted the court on my behalf to find out exactly what the situation entailed. They informed me that is was important me to attend this hearing but that I would be able to handle it on my own “at this point” but if things were to go forward then it would be good to have representation especially attorneys that are familiar with Oakland County Courts, it’s Judges, and their clerks (VERY IMPORTANT). Jim asked me to keep him abreast of the situation and even set an appointment up to do a minor debriefing to see if there was anything I overlooked while in court. My court time was all of 15 minutes. Exactly what Jim and John implied the time it would take. I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN more relieved and comfortable with BOTH Jim and John. Attorneys with INTEGRITY!!! They are MORE than worth what it would have cost me to retain them just for being COMPLETELY HONEST AND TRANSPARENT in the very beginning. I would HIGHLY recommend everyone to go and speak to Jim Wald and Associates!!!!
