DO NOT USE JOHN!! I retained John for a closing primarily to insure I was getting the land use I wanted. This was the first home I purchased, legal guidance in land use and zoning was important. Biggest mistake I ever made. Costed me thousands and the amount of stress and aggravation after was unreal after. Not only did he not provide proper legal advice, he didn’t get me any reimbursements for school and property taxes so there was thousands left out there. I had to go to John’s office on three different occasions due to the fact he didn’t have me sign in the right places. Complete lack of competence in his profession. Besides him being a poor attorney, John has a bad attitude and professionalism is horrible!! DO NOT USE JOHN for ANY real estate transactions! Contact the bar association for a referral if you unsure what lawyer to use. His wife is a nice lady only positive thing about his firm. The review about John hitting a car and not paying sounds about right in regards to his character and integrity. Stay away from this law office.
STAY CLEAR AND FAR AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE. I engaged John for eviction, he took my retainer knowing full well that he could not get the eviction pushed through. This is an attorney, who did not understand the laws well enough and my rights as a landlord, and then had to educate him on what those were. After 8 months of constant phone calls with John, and endlessly having to remind him of the details of my case, in addition to his wife, who manages the office in a sloppy and disorderly manner, both have taken on more than they can chew. They also, had me doing most of the leg work. They had also improperly served a tenant of mine, then after all is said and done, he decides that he cannot handle my case after 8 months, and is not going to refund my money. HANG IT UP JOHN! YOU ARE DONE!!.
I had an exceptional experience with John for a complicated property violation, he used his amazing knowledge and experience in real estate Law to get me the best results possible in court. We lost a real fighter for the Landlords of Newburgh. Will remember him forever.
John is an unethical lawyer. He acted against my wishes, his client. Realizing what he did was illegal, he lied and imposed that I did not understand him. How could one use a legal counsel for someone who has poor value ? Do NOT use John Poggioli.
